ONLINE THERAPY

Quality Care From The Comfort Of Your Home

What is Online Counseling?

The term “Online Therapy” has taken on new meanings and practices with the growing opportunities offered by technology and the Internet. I use the term “online therapy” to refer to therapy sessions conducted online via a HIPAA compliant video chat through the internet.  The format of the sessions is the same as in-person sessions. The only difference is that we will not be physically present in the same location, but we will still be able to see each other and carry on a conversation.

What do I need for this video chat?

You will need an internet connection and any browser you choose.  It can be your phone, iPad, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.  There is nothing to download.  You are directed to a specific website to meet your therapist online.

What issues is the therapist able to address through the video chat?

I have experience using online therapy and will be able to help you work through a number of issues, including Trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, PTSD, Sexual abuse, and many more. And yes, we can do EMDR online!

Is Online Therapy covered through insurance?

For the majority of insurances, Online Video Therapy is covered.  During COVID-19, all insurances have waived any prerequisites.  The primary concern for insurance companies is the patient receiving needed behavioral health care.  The cost is the same as an in-office visit.

Does Online Therapy really work?

Online counseling has been shown consistently to be as effective as in-person counseling for most people (sometimes more so for various reasons). ***There are, however, some situations where it may not be advised.
